The Orphan
In the stillness of the night, a woman, clutching a baby tightly, hurried to the church, her eyes darting nervously behind her. She rang the doorbell and hid in the bushes, watching as the priest opened the door and discovered the baby on the doorstep. He brought the baby inside, where the nuns quickly gathered, their faces a mix of awe and concern. This was no ordinary baby; her name was Trinity, and she was destined for something extraordinary.
Raised within the protective walls of the church, Trinity’s childhood was filled with love and learning. She excelled in her studies and formed close bonds with her friends, but she was never allowed to leave the church grounds alone. As she grew older, she began to sense a strange energy whenever she passed through the church gates, an unexplainable feeling that only intensified over time. One day, while out in the city with the nuns, a mysterious woman tried to contact Trinity, but the nuns quickly intervened. This encounter left Trinity with more questions than answers, and she noticed people disappearing around her, dismissing it as her imagination.
However, the unsettling feeling persisted, and her reality seemed to unravel more with each passing day.
Trinity’s life, confined within the church, was anything but ordinary, but as the world outside began to close in on her, with strangers reaching out with cryptic messages and people vanishing before her eyes, Trinity feared she was losing her mind. Her only solace came from a new friend, Amanda, who had recently joined the church. But even this friendship was shrouded in mystery, as one evening, Amanda disappeared into the night, leaving Trinity terrified and desperate for answers.

Forest Legacy
Prologue
The forest had always been alive, but not in the way most people understood. Its roots ran deeper than the earth itself, its branches stretched toward the heavens, and its essence pulsed with an ancient power that predated humanity. The villagers of Haverhill whispered about the forest in hushed tones, calling it sacred, calling it cursed. But none truly understood its secrets.
On the coldest nights, when the wind howled and the trees groaned under the weight of the storm, the forest seemed to breathe. It whispered to those who dared to listen, its voice a melody of life and death, light and shadow. For centuries, the balance had been maintained, guarded by beings older than time—guardians who walked the line between the human world and the wild, their existence intertwined with the land they protected.
But now, the balance was breaking.
Deep within the heart of the forest, where the trees grew so thick that sunlight never touched the ground, something stirred. A darkness that had been dormant for centuries began to awaken, its tendrils spreading through the roots and branches, corrupting the very essence of the land. The guardians, once radiant beings of light, were fading, their power waning as the shadow grew. And the forest, once a sanctuary, became a place of fear.
In the village of Haverhill, a woman named Helena felt the change before she saw it. The forest had always been a part of her life, a constant presence on the edge of her childhood home. But now, its whispers were louder, more insistent, pulling her toward its depths. She didn’t understand why—until the night she met him.
Gunther was unlike anyone she had ever known. He carried the wild in his veins, his green eyes glowing with a light that seemed to pierce through her soul. He spoke of a bond between them, of a destiny tied to the forest and the life growing within her. Helena didn’t want to believe him, didn’t want to accept the weight of what he was saying. But the forest didn’t give her a choice.
As the snow fell heavy and the winds howled through the village, Helena’s world began to unravel. The birth of her daughter, Katherine, marked the beginning of something far greater than herself—something ancient and powerful. The child was a bridge, a connection between the human world and the forest, and the darkness knew it.
The shadows came for them, creeping closer with every passing day. The corrupted guardian, its form twisted by the shadow’s influence, watched from the trees, waiting for its moment to strike. Helena and Gunther, bound by love and a shared purpose, stood at the center of it all, determined to protect their daughter and the fragile balance that hung in the air. Even before she was born. On a stormy December night.
But the forest had its own plans. Its whispers grew louder, its energy more volatile, as if testing them, pushing them toward something they couldn’t yet understand. The guardians, the shadows, the balance—it was all connected, all leading to a moment that would decide the fate of the forest and the world beyond.
And as the storm raged on, Helena realized that she couldn’t run from her destiny. The forest had chosen her, chosen her daughter, and there was no turning back. The light and the shadow were converging, and the battle for the forest’s soul had only just begun.
